Job Description

Data Engineer will be part of the Development team which designs and develops the data platform to provide new BI products or features. As part of a high performing Agile team expectation from Data Engg to continuously deliver new data Products or features. Quality is key for organization and DE will need to take personal pride in writing clean, testable code that his/her team is proud of.

Required Skills/Experience

• 2 or more years’ experience working as a Data Engineer

• Experience of developing in the Azure Modern Data Warehouse platform (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Databricks Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics, etc)

• Demonstratable experience of managing data using both Python & SQL

• Experience building ETLs for Data Warehouses using Kimball methodologies

• An understanding of dimensional modelling concepts such as dimensions, facts and slowly changing dimensions

• Experienced in real-time and batch mode data ingestion

• Experience with JSON, flat file, and XML data structures

• Experience handling structured and unstructured datasets

• Good knowledge of DevOps tools and processes

• An understanding of data Governance, including Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes

• Self-motivated and quick learner

• A pragmatic approach to solving problems

• Insurance domain Project experience required

Desirable Skills

• Experience of data transformation tools such as dbt

• Experience in AI and Machine Learning

• Experience of data visualisation tools (e.g., PowerBI, QlikView, Tableau etc.)

• Experience in the other PowerPlatform tools (PowerApps, Dataverse etc.)

• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases

• Programming knowledge (Python, C#, Scala etc.)

• Good working knowledge of the Scrum framework and the value of Scrum
