Associate Principal - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

1 Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualizations and insights using Power BI

2 Create and optimize complex data models using DAX to support the specific reporting and analytics needs of the business

3 Utilize Power Query to extract transform and load data from various sources into Power BI Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports

4 Continuously monitor report performance and optimize DAX and other elements for faster rendering and data refresh cycles

5 Work closely with the IT and cloud teams to integrate Power BI with other platforms such as Azure Synapse Azure Data Factory Databricks and more when needed

6 Use Power BI REST APIs for embedding automating and managing reports and dashboards in thirdparty applications or portals

7 Present insights and dashboards to senior management and other stakeholders Provide training and support to endusers to ensure the effective use of Power BI reports and dashboards

8 Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Power BI and implement relevant ones to enhance reporting capabilities

Essential Skills

1 Proven experience in building deploying and maintaining complex reports and dashboards using Power BI

2 Strong expertise in Data Analysis Expressions DAX and Power Query for data modeling and transformation

3 Proficiency in using Power BI REST APIs for extended functionality and integration

4 Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively liaise with stakeholders and present insights

Nice to have Skills

1 Familiarity with Azure Synapse and its integration with Power BI for enhanced analytics capabilities

2 Experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestrating and automating data workflows

3 Knowledge of the Lakehouse architecture and how it can be leveraged in Power BI reporting

4 Handson experience or understanding of Azure Databricks and its interplay with Power BI

Experience

1 Multiple years of experience as a dedicated Power BI developer showcasing a strong portfolio of reports and dashboards catered to varied business needs

2 Demonstrated capability in handling large datasets optimizing report performance and ensuring data security best practices

3 Past experience in working with crossfunctional teams including data engineers business analysts and cloud architects
