Senior Specialist – ABAP HANA

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Specialist with 7 to 11 years of experience in ABAP HANA, with strong expertise in HANA-native ABAP development, including CDS, AMDP, and RAP. The role focuses on designing high‑performance, scalable solutions that fully leverage SAP HANA capabilities while aligning with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced ABAP HANA applications using:
  • Core Data Services (CDS)
  • ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP)
  • RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
• Optimize and refactor existing ABAP code to leverage SAP HANA features for improved performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions within the ABAP HANA environment.
• Develop and maintain reusable ABAP components, artifacts, and frameworks aligned with SAP best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical documentation to ensure high-quality and maintainable deliverables.
• Stay up to date with the latest SAP HANA and ABAP technologies and incorporate them into development standards and practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex ABAP HANA solutions aligned with business goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers within the ABAP HANA skill cluster.
• Work closely with functional consultants and solution architects to design scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve performance issues related to ABAP programs running on SAP HANA.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and documentation requirements.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and on-time delivery of assigned work.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and propose innovative technical solutions using ABAP HANA technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7–11 years of strong experience in SAP ABAP, with significant hands-on expertise in ABAP on HANA.
• Proven experience with CDS Views, AMDP, and RAP development.
• Strong knowledge of HANA performance optimization techniques.
• Experience in object-oriented ABAP development and reusable framework design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
