SAP MM / WM Senior Consultant

Role Summary

The SAP MM / WM Senior Consultant is a functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Materials Management (MM) and Warehouse Management (WM) solutions. The consultant translates business requirements related to procurement, inventory, and logistics into effective SAP configurations, leads full lifecycle implementations and migrations, and provides guidance to project teams while ensuring seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Gather and analyze business requirements and map them to SAP MM and WM solutions
• Design end-to-end processes for Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Inventory Management, and Warehouse Operations
• Define warehouse layouts, storage types, bin structures, and movement strategies
• Deliver optimized AS-IS to TO-BE process designs aligned with SAP best practices

Configuration & Customization

• Configure SAP MM (Purchasing, Inventory Management, Master Data) and WM modules
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments (RICEF objects)
• Collaborate with ABAP teams on enhancements, BAPIs, and User Exits
• Support functional-level ABAP debugging and solution validation

Project Leadership

• Lead or contribute to full lifecycle SAP implementations, rollouts, and ECC to S/4HANA migrations
• Act as functional lead or SME for MM/WM workstreams
• Mentor junior consultants and support offshore/onshore coordination
• Manage client workshops, solution walkthroughs, and project deliverables

Integration & Technical Collaboration

• Work closely with technical teams on system integrations, including:
  • IDocs and EDI interfaces
  • RF and barcode-enabled warehouse processes
  • Integration with FI, SD, PP, and external systems

Testing & Training

• Develop and execute unit testing, integration testing, and UAT
• Create test scripts and manage defect resolution
• Deliver end-user and key-user training sessions
• Prepare functional documentation and user guides

Support & Optimization

• Provide post–go-live and hypercare support
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause analysis
• Continuously optimize procurement, inventory accuracy, and warehouse performance

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

• 5–10+ years of experience in SAP MM and WM
• Strong background in full-cycle SAP implementations
• Hands-on experience with S/4HANA and WM / EWM
• Exposure to migration, rollout, and large transformation projects

Technical Skills

• SAP MM: Purchasing, Inventory Management, Master Data
• SAP WM: Storage types, bins, movement strategies
• RICEF objects and functional specifications
• ABAP debugging (functional-level)
• Cross-module integration knowledge

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Leadership and mentoring capability
• Ability to work independently in complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) projects
• SAP MM / WM / EWM certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Fluent English
