Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:  

• The position of BI / SQL Developer is responsible for in-depth design, development, deployment, and maintenance of complex database systems and perform advanced analytics with BI Tools.
• The Developer will collaborate with business and technology leaders to ensure data quality and data accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience
• Highly motivated professional with 5+ years of combined experience in BI operations , data modeling and T-SQL Scripting.
• 4+ years’ experience in data preparation, data analysis, data mining, advanced report writing, user acceptance testing, and data presentation
• 2+ years’ experience in any ETL tools (Informatica Cloud, PowerCenter, Talend, Bhoomi, SSIS, Alteryx) to create interactive data pipelines and reports
• Advanced SQL writing using data warehousing, star schema, data marts, master data, and Informatica workflow skills
• Experience with SDLC methodologies, understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Experience in writing complex stored procedures and windows functions
• Experience in writing batch and python scripting.
• Experience with database management and maintenance are preferred
• Experience with any of the following: Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Transact-SQL; Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio; Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012; SQL Server Database Administration 2000/2005/2008 R2 and/or 2012
• Experience with database migration, performance tuning, and optimization, and setting up and managing database connections

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Delivery of Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions
• Design, develop, deploy, and manage ETL datasets workflows
• Perform high-level data analysis, dashboard interface design, develop user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria, and BI documentation
• Enable analytic end-users by onboarding new end-users to the analytic platforms while providing recurring training workshops, prototype sessions, and holding office hours
• Identify, report, and escalate risks to manager and stakeholders appropriately
• Communicate and present analysis to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders across the organization
• Professionally communicate to technical and non-technical staff written, oral, and formal presentations
• Engage with BI and data warehouse team to manage priorities via during design sessions or peer review sessions
• Data Modeling or creating Datasets
• Develop ETL process used to collect data from various sources, transform the data depending on business rules/needs and load the data into a destination database.
• Create ER Diagrams and Normalize data before creating database Objects
• Make changes to data model to accommodate direct entry changes, periodical Bulk load layout changes and future enhancements to meet the business needs
