Job Title: Digital Channel Lead

Primary Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Description of the Role

• The Digital Channel Lead will perform a critical role in Banking Digital space with responsibility to ensure stability continuity and availability of the application in addition to providing rapid response to incidents and escalated user queries
• Technical Support and Maintenance of the Business Service and Applications
• Hands-on and should be able to work independently and if required coordinate with component digital team mates
• Responsible for support implementation of application improvement initiatives
• Own maintain and track of the entire digital lifecycle
• Strong Analytical skills
• Utilize the bank defined best practices standards and tools in application delivery documentation and support

Brief Overview of the Role

• Takes responsibility for the technical solution and problems reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors to limit downtime and resolve the issue by coordinating with component digital teams
• Takes accountability for ownership and execution of all Digital support related activities related to the day to day operations of the Banks production applications related to the individual Product area
• Prioritization of individual Digital problems and ensuring the delivery of solutions in line with the Operational Level Agreements to deadlines and quality standards providing regular updates to key stakeholders and all levels
• To maintain close coordination with client to attend to high priority production issues or new requirements that need urgent implementation

Essential Skills:

• Must have Banking Digital channels expertise (Internet/Mobile/USSD banking, Digital wallets etc.)
• Evidence of strong experience of IT software support
• Good communication skills
• Experience on direct client interaction/coordination
• Good knowledge of BFS domain
• Experience in Java/J2EE
• Good knowledge in Unix/Linux
• Experience in writing queries in SQL language for running on Oracle/MSSQL/PostGress or other DBMS essential
• Able to investigate and debug production issues from technical perspective
• Functional knowledge of Digital banking will be added advantage
• Good knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform will be an added advantage
