Specialist - Software Engineering

Job Summary:

• Has experience of working in Lean Agile Startup type environment or is willing to adopt.
• Ready to be fully functional member of self-driven/motivated team to ensure every release adds value to business.
• Experience with TDD and BDD is of advantage.
• Develop Front end and back end of complex, responsive web application in Java and JEE.
• Completes programming tasks including estimation, analysis, design, coding, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documentation, application health monitoring/alerting and implementation of programs.

Primary Duties:

• Perform System programming tasks of medium complexity. Tasks require proficient programming and analytical skills.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication, follow-up, collaboration and responsiveness to issues
• Actively seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Continues to develop business knowledge while learning how work assignments address business issues.
• Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects

Minimum Experience:

• 5+ years of software application development
• Strong proven experience in Java and Java script

Must Have Required Skills:

• Java and JEE
• JavaScript, Spring Framework, XML, XSLT, XPath
• MuleSoft
• WebSphere experience, Eclipse DE
• Database - Oracle, SQL
• Knowledge of Microservices and associated architecture
• AWS
• SVN, GITHUB, MAVEN

Nice to have skills:

• Guidewire experience
• React (including responsive web page development), Node, MongoDB
• AWS S3 storage, RDS, SNS, Lambda, OpenShift
• Test driven development
• CSS
• Trunk Based development
• Familiarity with Swagger
• Lean Agile/Kanban/SAFe
• DevOps experience.
