Senior Specialist - Software Engineering

Mandatory Skills : RPG, SQL400/Query400 , CLLE/ CL400 Strong working knowledge in DB2400 ,ILE Concepts, Display Files, Sub Files, Printer Files & Embedded SQL

Additional Skills : COBOL & MQ Series is a plus.

Technical Skills :

• Hands on experience IBM AS400 iSeries Platform and RPGLE Programming is a must
• Experience in Integrated Language Environment(ILE)( creating sub procedure, subroutines & service program)
• Experienced in creating & debugging RPG/CL
• Strong knowledge in SQL400/Query400 , CLLE/ CL400, DB2400 , Display Files, Sub Files, Printer Files & Embedded SQL

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Senior tech lead who can handle the below tasks

1. Functional Requirements and perform requirement analysis
2. Estimate and Monitor Estimates
3. Work with Business teams to prioritize work
4. Prepare detailed design documentation
5. Interface between customer and Offshore Team
6. Reporting and tracking of assignments
7. Fix high priority issues

• Root Cause Analysis on the assigned tasks, A&D Preparation, Coding, Unit testing and Bug Fixing, Test case document preparation
• Expertise in Production support environment by monitoring/executing batch jobs, handle critical situations and resolution of tickets raised by business users
• Document code changes, configuration changes, incident tickets and fixes.
• Experience and understanding of support activities in AS400 system and Performance tuning/engineering.
• Strong Technical/Analytical and Problem-solving skills
• Support the company’s home-grown system by responding to end-user incidents
• Troubleshoot, research, and resolve defects found in system software
• Research and resolve database issues
• Answer technical questions posed by end users
• Provide clients with ongoing general support of existing systems and software
• Develop custom enhancements to support changing business demands
• Assist the Management team with project definitions and user acceptance testing activities
• Document and conduct effective and meaningful test plans
• Document competent technical specifications for development work done
• Capable of working with users to gather requirements and translate them into technical documentation.
