Azure VMware Solution (AVS) Architect

We are looking for a skilled IT professional with 10+ years of experience, including 2+ years working with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and 4+ years with VMware vSphere and Azure cloud deployments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud migrations, infrastructure planning, and working with enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement infrastructure deployments and migrations from on-premises VMware environments to Azure VMware Solution.
• Collaborate with architects, service delivery teams, and customer stakeholders to define and deliver successful migration strategies.
• Stay up to date with the latest Azure AVS and VMware technologies and apply best practices in deployments.
• Create and share technical documentation and conduct internal training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with security and governance standards throughout the migration process.

Technical Skills Required:

VMware Expertise:

• Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
• VMware vSphere 6.0 and above
• VMware NSX-T (including NSX Edge services: DNS, DHCP, Gateway, Firewall, Distributed Firewall)
• NSX implementation and migration (from VLAN or NSX-V)
• VMware vSAN
• VMware HCX (Advanced/Enterprise)
• Preferred: VMware Site Recovery Manager, vSphere Replication
• Preferred: VMware management suite (vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI)

Azure Expertise:

• Azure ExpressRoute and VPN
• Azure Virtual WAN and Route Server
• Azure networking fundamentals
• Preferred: Azure Disk Pools, Azure NetApp Files
• Preferred: Azure Monitor, Arc, Security Center
• Preferred: 3rd-party virtual appliances (firewalls, load balancers, routers)

General Infrastructure Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of hardware platforms, hypervisors, networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring, alerting, and patching.
• Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance standards.
• Solid grasp of data center networking topologies (Layer 2 and Layer 3).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and critical customer situations.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: VCTA, VCP-DCV, CCNP, VCP-NV certifications.

Preferred Experience:

• Working with enterprise customers on Azure-specific solutions and deployments.
• Experience in Azure hosting, infrastructure, and public cloud environments.
